Thought Victoire de Castellan is still in Versailles. From her previous collection Dior à Versailles, we learned a lot about the interiors of the palace: there were earrings resembling a curtain from the king’s apartments, and a necklace in the form of a crystal chandelier.
In the collection of Côté Jardins, Victoire de Castellan uses an ancient cut “rose” and a rare complex technique of glyptics – carvings on colored stones.
This time the jeweler of aristocratic origin decided to go out into the garden and take an inspirational stroll in the atmosphere of flower beds, fountains and statues. Another regular French park would suggest symmetry, but de Castellan does not mean it. Her new ornaments from the collection of Dior à Versailles, Côté Jardins – from the “Nymph Basin” to “The Bosnetic Colonnade” – wriggle as they want. This is the largest collection of designers: sixty-six ornaments, of which twenty-nine are not repetitive. The most expensive necklace – Trianon Diamant with a diamond weighing 5.11 carats, surrounded by a hedge of emeralds and pink sapphires – is dedicated to the secluded modest house of Marie Antoinette. The necklace was bought for € 2.4 million on the first day. Because women love when they are given flowers.
